Field of Yoga

Mary McInnis Meyer, RYT 200jathara parivrtti

Mary has been teaching yoga locally for 4 years, and recently founded Field of Yoga to share yoga's benefits with more of the Cedar Valley.  She began her yoga path with vinyasa, then Anusara (120+ hours), and now in Tantric Hatha.  Mary studies under Karina Ayn Mirsky, Para Yoga Master Teacher, and received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in April, 2009.  The tantric hatha style that Mary teaches carries with it a strong Himalayan tradition (translated: not just asana). Mary's philosophy is that yoga can bring everyone closer to their innate balance (yes, you are balanced inside).  In Mary's classes, individual attention is the norm, as no two students are the same.  Mary's instruction is based in a clear sense of community and connection, with an approach that ensures none of us take ourselves too seriously.  Her classes are systematic yet inspired, creatively addressing the needs in the room.

Carissa Shima Carissa's qualifications and certifications are extensive, including personal trainer, anatomy instructor, structural integration therapist, pilates teacher, and massage therapist.  She has been teaching yoga for 8 years, and provides sound guidance that leaves students calm and confident.  Her strength is her ability to meet the needs of every student or client - her heart centered in helping others.  She is currently working toward her 200-hr yoga certification with Devi Das, Karina Ayn Mirsky, in Tantric Hatha.

Carissa recently opened Healing Body Massage in the south room at Field of Yoga.
