ONGOING CLASSES

Essential Yoga (1):  75-min.  This class focuses on the essential poses & techniques, with lots of repetition from week-to-week to seat your practice within you.  No prior yoga experience necessary.*

Easy Does It Yoga (1): Take a therapeutic approach to yoga, gently opening your body & life. A "yin" practice great for anyone living with back pain, sciatica, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, or very tight muscles in general. Very few standing poses, no sun salutes, and lots of supportive, restorative poses. STARTS AUG.

Yoga Path (ALL)
:  75-min.  Expand your techniques and explore poses in creative ways to deepen your experience. Learn to initiate action from your center, with mindfulness and integrity. This varied all-levels practice involves pranayama, asana, relaxation, and meditation. Be inspired. (Not recommended for absolute beginners.)

Saturday Morning Yoga (ALL):  75-min.  Try out different teachers and different styles at this diverse class. Carissa Shima, Maggie Strom, and Mary McInnis Meyer. All teachers are 200-hr certified or currently working toward 200-hr certification. Start your day with yoga and be open for anything!
 

Vinyasa Flow (ALL):  75-min.  Ride on the breath to flow through poses.  Vinyasa means "progress," and you will surely make some in this class - in body & mind. Class incorporates centering, pranayama, dristi/focus, and relaxation. (Not recommended for absolute beginners.)

Yoga Challenge
 (2):  75-min.  For those seeking a challenge both physically and mentally, this class rich with tapas (the fire that polishes us on the outside so we can shine from within) provides just that. Access big poses such as handstand, wheel backbend, and bound twists. The practice includes breathwork, relaxation, and meditation to ensure the effect of true balance (sattva). Not for absolute beginners or those not in good physical health.

Guided Stress Relief (ALL):  30-min $7.50. Relieve stress, refresh, and refocus. 30 minutes of guided systematic stress relief techniques including progressive relaxation, breathwork, and guided meditation. Come dressed as you are - half of our class time will be spent on our backs (propped as needed), the other half in a comfortable seat. Stress takes its toll on our bodies, inside and out. Try an approach that works to restore you through and through.


REGISTRATION CLASSES
Must pre-register online for classes listed here.  All have set term-lengths and costs.

Yoga Foundation (1):  75-min 6-week session meets once-a-week. $60. Remember how easy it is to be you through the process of yoga.  Learn techniques in breathing and systematic relaxation that bring balance and improved connection.  Learn safe and effective alignment specific to your body.*  Take 6 weeks to set a foundation for your yoga, and deepen your experience of life.  Course is progressive and includes demonstration, hand-outs, and Q&A as well as experiential learning through a focused yoga practice.
Levels
1: beginner and those wishing to deepen their understanding of yoga
2: experienced beginner to intermediate; those confident with alignment and practices such as sun salutations on the breath and pranayama (breathwork)
3advanced; consistent yoga practice with a teacher for 6+ months


































*Group yoga classes are not recommended for the following conditions:
  -herniated discs
  -major injury or surgery within the last 4 months
  -if you have never done yoga and are more than 12 weeks pregnant

Group yoga classes may be an option for those who have the following conditions after you (a) consult with your physician, and (b) get approval from the studio director (fieldofyoga@mchsi.com):
